FAQ: How to Resize and Host Images

The image size allowed in our profiles (and in most forum profiles) is small, so you will need to resize a photo on your hard drive.  The best tool for this is a FREE powertool from Microsoft for Windows XP, and it is at the following link:

http://download.microsoft.com/download/whistler/Install/2/WXP/EN-US/ImageResizerPowertoySetup.exe

After you install this tool, you can right-click on any image and create a resized copy of that image in one simple step.

Alternatively, you can use Windows Paint to do it, or you can download a free image management tool like google's picasa (www.picasa.com).  However, the quickest and easiest way is to install the Microsoft Image Resizer Power Tool.

If you want to upload an image and then point to it in our forums and other forums, the best service for hosting images is www.photobucket.com.  After you upload the image, you can wrap the URL for the image in image tags such as below:

[img]http://www.photobucket.com/ice/imagename.jpg[/img]

This works for most forums.
