What's Up For May? Our usual "Let's drive somewhere and eat something" routine with a small dash of "I'm not hungry, but I could eat" thrown in.

July CA Coastal Run Update:  If you haven't made your reservations in Lompoc or Asilomar, it's time to do so.  This will be a must-do event with clubs from all over the west joining the group for a free-style driving event (Free-style means we don't try to caravan as a large group and you have multiple options for non-drivetime entertainment). The Phoenix club still has three unclaimed reservations at Asilomar.  Call Lynn at 480 814-0544 to grab one before she cancels them. Be sure to RSVP  to get all of the details.

05/02 (Sun) East Enders Coffee - Come join the group at 9:00 am for our ever popular and growing East Enders Coffee.  This month we will be meeting at Einstein Bros. Bagels at 1447 E. Williams Fields Road.  It is located in the shopping center on the southwest corner of Williams Field Drive and Val Vista Drive in Gilbert.  Remember...It's Just Coffee.

05/08 (Sat) May Dinner - Floyd's Kitchen (www.floydskitchen.com ),which promises a great meal, is nestled between Sprouts and Coldstone Creamery on the northeast corner of Tatum and Cactus in Phoenix.  This small but delightful restaurant was recently voted the best new neighborhood restaurant by Best of Greater Phoenix.com  The food is made from scratch and the prices are very reasonable.  There is plenty of parking and we will meet in the parking lot at 5:30 PM. The will do separate checks and you won't be disappointed!

kappa_koffee_resized.jpg05/11 (Tues) Kappa Koffee - This month we will be meeting at 6:00 PM at Hava Java for Koffee on the northwest corner of Camelback and 32nd Street.  Molina's Jewelers is out on the corner.  Dinner afterwards will be at Keegan's Restaurant if you are able to join us.  We can walk over, or drive the cars and park near the restaurant.  They have a delightful outdoor patio and plenty of room inside in case the weather is getting too hot.

05/15 (Sat) May's Drive - Always one of the best, we will be heading to Flagstaff via the fun and beautiful back way.  Meet us at Jolta Java located at 14418 N. Scottsdale Road, Suite 185, Scottsdale, AZ 85254 at 10:00AM on Saturday morning for brunch.  Our ride will take us out Route 87 (the Beeline Highway) and north into Payson.  We will continue our north bound journey towards cooler weather as we travel up through Pine and on to Lake Mary/Mormon Lake.  We will be proceeding to Flagstaff for an early dinner at a place to be determined. Spend the night at your favorite spot in Flag or drive back to Phoenix - as you wish. For those staying in Flag, we will meet at 9:00 at the Crown Railroad Cafe, 2700 S. Woodlands Village Blvd. for breakfast to begin our journey back home.

05/21-05/24 (Fri-Mon) Kappa Kruise - It's not too late to join the Kappa Kruise Krewe for a fun filled 3-Day Baja Mexico Cruise, departing the Los Angeles port of Long Beach, on board Carnival Cruise Line’s Fun Ship ”Paradise”. This is a 3-day Cruise that travels to Ensenada Mexico and back to the port of Long Beach. Cabins Starting at only $340.11/pp!  By this late date, you have to book directly with Carnival but there are still cabins available.  This 2009 cruise was the origin of our club's secondary motto..."I could eat." wine.jpg

05/30 (Sun) Memorial Day Wine Tasting - Usually our wine tasting parties are more like "wine drinking" than "wine tasting" but we will try to be more organized this time!  The evening will feature three different food stations with three wines paired with each dish. Ergo, you get a light dinner as well as the wine experience.  One dish will feature whites, another both whites and reds, and the third only reds. The party is at John and Lynn Busenbark's, 1333 N. Laveen Drive, Chandler. The tasting gets underway at 6:00 and ends when the last person leaves the building - excluding John and Lynn, of course.  Not too worry, Monday is a holiday!
